Originally located at Abbey Mill in Bishops Waltham, the business expanded to include a Print and Copy shop which opened in the town centre during the summer of 1994. The print works relocated to Church Road in Swanmore in 1999 with the shop being incorporated into the fabric of the building in 2005.

The initial emphasis was towards printing business stationery and periodical magazines. Latterly, the development of The Printword Centre has meant typesetting has now expanded to creative design work. Printing has grown from being solely paper based to include a variety of surfaces and the mail order supply of stationery and computer supplies compliments the creation of web sites, which completes the package offered.

Directors Andrew and David Archard were educated at Prices College in Fareham. Andrew began his working career in High Street Banking. David learnt how to print the moment he left college.

It was after Andrew left banking that he joined with David to begin Meon Valley Printers. David has recently been a co-director of Hallmark Cleaning in Romsey. Andrew was a Winchester City Councilor for fourteen years and held the position of Bishops Waltham Chamber of Trade and Commerce Chairman for the second time during 2004/5.
